Tyrone Wilson Executive Director
Tyrone Wilson, Executive Director of Harambee. Tyrone’s life experience is working with youth. He began working with youth as a teenager at his first summer youth job in Harlem at the YWCA. Tyrone has devoted his life to various community positions: football coach, basketball coach, team leader, House manager, anger management coach, firefighter, assistant director of an afterschool program in Harlem. As the Executive Director of Harambee Tyrone uses his life experiences to show youth how to prosper in their struggles and how to cope productively while facing life’s challenges. Each one teach one is the motto Tyrone lives by.  Building future leaders to become the next generation frontline mentors will be the fruit of Tyrone’s countless years of service.  As Executive Director of Harambee, Tyrone’s organization presented Ulster County with one of the first full and event filled calendars for the entire Black History Month. His work continues with an initiative to bring respect due to an African-American burial site to be recognized as a historic site. Ulster County MBK is a continuation of Tyrone’s efforts to encourage success for all.
